About UATCSO

The United African Technical College Student Organization (UATCSO) is the official representative body for all students enrolled at UATC. It serves as the bridge between the student body and institutional leadership, ensuring that student needs, aspirations, and concerns are heard and addressed.

UATCSO operates under the values of UATC — faith, innovation, and technical excellence — and is committed to fostering a campus environment where every student can thrive academically, spiritually, and socially.

Through advocacy, cultural programs, academic support initiatives, and community outreach, UATCSO amplifies the student voice and shapes the future of our campus together.

What We Do

🗣 Student Advocacy

We represent student interests to faculty and administration — raising concerns about academic programmes, campus facilities, welfare, and policies to ensure every student is heard.

🎓 Academic Support

We organise study groups, peer tutoring, and academic workshops designed to help students succeed — from their first semester through to graduation.

🏘 Campus Life & Events

From cultural celebrations and sports days to talent shows and community service, UATCSO makes campus life vibrant, inclusive, and memorable.

🌟 Leadership Development

We cultivate the next generation of African leaders through workshops, mentorship programmes, and opportunities to lead real initiatives that impact the community.

🏆 Community Outreach

UATCSO engages with the wider Kigamboni community through service projects, school visits, and partnerships — living out UATC's motto of being Lights to the Nations.

How We Operate

  • 1 UATCSO is governed by a democratically elected executive committee that serves for one academic year.
  • 2 All registered UATC students are automatic members of UATCSO and are entitled to vote and stand for office.
  • 3 General meetings are held at least once per semester; emergency meetings may be called by the President or by petition of 20% of the student body.
  • 4 UATCSO reports to the Dean of Students and operates transparently, publishing minutes and financial reports each term.
  • 5 Decisions are made by simple majority vote; the President holds the casting vote in the event of a tie.
  • 6 Any student may raise a matter to UATCSO by submitting a written request to the General Secretary.
