Everything you need to know about applying to UATC from outside Tanzania.

Information for international students is being finalized and confirmed with UATC leadership.

Once available, this page will cover visa and immigration guidance, accommodation options for students arriving from outside Tanzania, and any additional requirements or support specific to international applicants.

1. Apply

Apply through the Online Application System, meeting the academic and immigration requirements for your programme.

2. Documents & Equivalence

Submit your passport, certificates, and transcripts. Foreign qualifications may need NECTA/NACTVET equivalence and certified translation.

3. Visa & Immigration

Obtain the appropriate student visa or student pass before travelling, using your admission letter as supporting documentation.

4. Arrive & Settle

Confirm accommodation and finalize travel only after your admission and visa are both confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. International applicants may apply for admission to UATC, provided they meet the academic requirements of their selected programme and the applicable Tanzanian qualification and immigration requirements.
International applicants may be required to provide a valid passport, academic certificates, transcripts or result statements, recent passport-size photographs and evidence of qualification equivalence. Additional documents may be requested depending on the applicant's country and programme.
Yes. Foreign secondary-school qualifications may require an equivalence certificate from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania, NECTA. Foreign technical and vocational qualifications may require evaluation or equivalence by NACTVET. Applicants should begin this process early.
Documents that are not written in English or Swahili may require an official or certified translation. Applicants should submit both the translated document and a copy of the original document where required.
International students must obtain the appropriate immigration authorisation for studying in Tanzania. Depending on nationality and the duration of study, this may involve a student visa or student pass. An admission letter and supporting letter from the institution may be required during the application.
No. International applicants should wait until they have received an official admission offer and confirmed the applicable visa or student-pass requirements before making final travel arrangements.
International applicants should contact the Finance or Admissions Office for the applicable fee structure. They should also budget separately for qualification equivalence, immigration processing, travel, health insurance and accommodation.
Hostel accommodation may be available subject to space and payment of the applicable accommodation fee. International students should request accommodation information early and obtain confirmation before travelling.
The Admissions Office may provide institutional documents connected to admission, such as the admission letter or supporting confirmation. However, each applicant remains responsible for completing the required immigration procedures and complying with Tanzanian laws.
